Celebrating Baby Mckenzie!

Baby Mckenzie!

I had the honor of capturing all the festivities for Baby Mckenzie's Shower!
Tara and Mckelvey asked me to join them to capture all the memories of this wonderful day.
The coming arrival of Sweet Baby Mckenzie!

The decorations were lovely...I have to confess...I am a sucker for some creative and cute party decorations and they did not disappoint at all!
Friends and family gathered to share Tara and Mckelvey's special day.

The setting was sweet, and whimsical,
I loved it!
There was candy, pretty decorations and fun games all around.

....and there were OWLS! I love Owls!
In fact, that was the theme of Mckenzie's sweet party!

Tara was absolutely stunning and glowing. She was not far from her due
date and looked amazing!
I was ready nontheless for any arrival of any kind!!!
But no surprise arrivals were made!
I love how baby showers now a days are uni-sex and why not?
Why can't the guys not share in the festivities?
There were plenty of young men there to play all the "Fun" maternity games, I do
believe a few of them actually guessed and won some of the prizes to boot - and without nameing names...they thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

The cake was so pretty...I did'nt want it cut...too pretty to cut!

The hostesses Leidys and Jessica did an amazing job!
Kudos to you ladies!
The food was outstanding!
Some carribean flare and spices.

I do believe daddy Mckelvey is more than excited to meet his little girl...He helped organize, deliver and was a great
participant at the shower.

There was a little
bit of everything
for everyone!!
The gifts were wonderfully heartfelt,
full of love and warmth for little Mckenzie!
Aaaaaaagh! They cut that cute cake!
"Sweet" thank you's were given to all on this amazing day and it was a sweet, amazing day.
I wish this fantastic couple much happiness and love for the years to come.
Mckenzie will be an extremely lucky little girl to have these two wonderful parents and big sister in her life!
That's for sure.

I can't wait to meet you Mckenzie!

Baby Karla!

I enjoy doing these wonderful maternity shoots...the anticipation of this little person that one day I will get the honor of meeting...
is absolutely OUTSTANDING!!
I was thrilled to do these photos for Lilly.
Not only because of her excitement of the birth of her baby girl - but also for the thrill of meeting these two lovely people, getting to know them and being a part of this special time in their lives.
The special time is that...
Baby Karla is coming!
It was a warm day a the University but they powered through it like the pro's they are.
Announcing the coming birth of their precious little girl with balloons and plenty of fanfare.
Lilly is absolutely stunning in her eighth month, absolutely stunning.
Not only is Karla going to be welcomed by these two amazing
parents...but she has two furry brothers who are just as excited to
meet their new baby sister!!!
But she better toughen up quick...she is being born
into a Pittsburgh Steeler Home!
Complete with Terrible Towels and other
Baby Steeler.
As you can see...she is ready and coming soon.
I think she is waving.
I cannot wait to meet her!
I know she will be just as lovely as her amazing parents.
Hurry and see ya soon Karla!!

These two...

These two young ladies melt my heart.
A mother and daughter team, the dynamic duo, two birds of a feather, partners for life!
That's what these two are.
They are close to my heart for several reasons...but primarily because they remind
me of a time, long ago and far away.
Well, really not that dramatic.
But I too was a single parent with a lovely young daughter that kept me strong throughout
all of lifes struggles and obstacles!
So yes, these two lovelies have a a very special place deep in my heart.
They are close, and it is beyond interesting watching the dynamic between these two.
They are amazing, and I am glad I know them.

I see this little one (I say little one loosely-because she is far from the classic little child mentality!)
and I am astounded by the things she says and does...I hope I live long enough to see her grow up!
She is going to be an amazing, interesting and independent adult and I want to be a witness to all of that!!!

Together they are mighty, they can conquer the world...and they will.
I miss that time, I envy them.
 The world is yours ladies!

A Senior Moment

This is Kyla.

She has graduated from Bloomingdale HS.
I was thrilled to do her Senior Shoot at UT.
I joined her and her parents on the park grounds and well...I just let Kyla go.
Kyla knew exactly what she wanted and she did a beautiful job.
I loved working with her...and I loved meeting her sweet parents.
Congratulations Kyla!
We took advantage of Downtown Tampa as one of our backdrops...
Kyla looks amazing!
Its always nice to do
the "standard classic" Senior shots
that mom's, dad's, grandma's and uncles and aunts expect
to see...but sometimes it's just
good to let off a bit of steam and
let your hair down!
I love those shots the best!

I must say doing the Senior shoots are especially touching for me.
It's about beginnings.
Yes, you are done with High School, it has been a long road....but it is now
the beginning of LIFE!
Your future awaits. New experiences, adventures, love, and yep...sometimes some hiccups and roadblocks.
That is life, and it is all about the journey.
Make your journey magical Kyla!
I wish you an amazing and wonderful future!

Missing in Action!

I have been missing in Action!

Not necessarily from the Photography...but dabbling in all of the things I am passionate about!
I am a the photography, and drawing, yes, drawing are the most important things in my life...with the exception of these three things:
My furry lady...
and my spectacular pink skinned family!
Along with my photography I have been drawing more and please forgive me if I haven't been keeping you informed as to what is going on...between the photo shoots and plate is full...but it is a "great full!"

I hope you enjoyed a few of my sketches!
Life is about doing the things that make you happy. It's about living life as if it were your last moments on earth!
I am heeding that advice.
I am a creative and I am happy!

Luisa and Jose.

I have known Luisa since her freshman year of High School.
She and my Little have been friends all through these years of changes and growth!
She has matured into such an amazing young woman and now, she is engaged to be married to a wonderful young man, Jose.
I could not be happier!
So you can imagine the excitement I felt to do her engagement photos!

Not only do I love Luisa like one of my own, but I was able to meet her fiancee Jose who as far as I am
concerned is now a part of our family!
He is very mellow, easygoing and they fit perfectly like pancakes and syrup!
(Notice the food analogy? Tee hee, I love pancakes and syrup!)
The Picture below happens to be
one of my favorite photographs, not only because two of my favorite people are
in it...but because to me the mural represents Ybor City, and as an artist, I appreciate the work and creativity that anyone puts lovingly into
their art.
I love this picture.
I am thrilled for this lovely couple.
Not only because they are close to me....but
for the life they are building and a future full of beauty and possibilities is waiting at their door.
Congratulations Luisa and Jose!

It has been a good beginning. I have no complaints, all is well with the world right now.
It has been a month of being creative  and a time of some lovely calm.

To many, that may be boring...but to me it is heaven!
I am enjoying my down time
drawing a lot, photographing family, and finishing up
some fun projects.

So before I get into the craziness of Valentines Day, (Starting next week!) Senior and Prom shoots I am relishing in this little piece of quiet calm heaven!
So get ready friends, start getting your wardrobes selected, the haircuts, and just get pumped up!
I hope your New Year is off to a slendid start!

Stay tuned!!

It's a New Year...

New Beginnings.

What better way to celebrate than to share a photo shoot of a beautiful Newborn!
A life full of new beginnings, a time of many firsts.
Life viewed with bright eyes and wonderment.

I have shared in the past that I am a big advocate for honoring my clients- (family) wishes.
So honoring I am...
I shall call this little one...Beautiful Little One!
My wonderful parents...Of this Beautiful Little One OK'd these sweet little pics of our little one.

She's a good napper, she was fed, warm and comfy...but she decided that she did not want to sleep during her shoot!
So she wiggled and she squirmed throughout her
photo shoot!
We caught a few moments where we thought she was going to take her little
nap...but she was not having it!
She wanted to know what was going on the entire time!!
I am fascinated
by baby fingers, toes, ears, lips,
lashes and creases!

She is coming close to a year old soon...I can't wait to see her!
This is what a New Year feels like..."What is ahead for us?
New beginnings. Viewing life bright eyed and full of wonder.
I can't wait to see what it brings."

Happy New Year my friends!

It may not be Christmas....

It may not be Christmas...

but it is a memory that will last a lifetime!

Senior Prom!

My Senior Olivia commissioned me to photograph her very special Senior Prom last spring!
That was a wonderful experience not only for her...but for me as well.
It was magical seeing all the young people dressed up and buzzing with excitement!
I don't know who was more excited the kids or the parents!!
They swarmed all around me taking thier own pictures...I surely don't blame them....I once was one of those parents taking pics of my teenagers memorable moments!!
Confession:  I still do!
It comes with the territory-MOTHER!

Olivia looked A-mazing!
Her dress was to die for...aaaah, to be
young again!

Memories to cherish
for a life time.
Olivia and her very best friend.

Olivia and her "Girls!"

These gals had a blast!
They had me going as well!
Once ALL the girls
got there things really got crazy FUN!!
I really enjoyed working with all these young people.

Crazy Fun!!

These are wonderful times, memories to last us a lifetime.
This is what it's all about ...creating these moments that bring a smile to our faces.

This is what it's all about.

Christmas Joy!

Posted on December 11, 2015 at 11:10 PM Comments comments (0)

It is Christmas time!

Tonight I finished my third art commission of the five I still have....and I finished all my editing for my latest wedding! Which was absolutely lovely!
(Will post those later!)
So to hubster took me to dinner and we (The Christmas Light Hunters-as I so gingerly refer us as!) went to view some Christmas lights...a very big deal in my home!
I have been super busy with artwork and a bunch of photo shoots so it was an absolute thrill to get out on this beautiful night to just breath and take all this Christmas spirit in.
So we zoomed and zoomed all over town enjoying the lights and all the Christmas frivolities...we weren't the only ones.

The lights on many of the houses were simply gorgeous...and some were just HA-larious!!
This Big-Mouthed Bass was singing away, not very Christmasy but funny nontheless!
We went to our traditional Christmas place we always go to, to see the lights. They were spectacular as always  even surprised me by adding some extra fun!
Don't forget "The Reason for the Season."
So lovely, simple and touching off by itself. It made me stop, and smile.
I have so much to be thankful for.

This is the season that brings me joy.
I hope it also brings you peace, love and the warmth of those you love.

Merry Christmas to all my family, old friends, new friends, and those yet to meet.
May your Christmas sparkle with moments of love, laughter and goodwill, And may the year ahead be full of contentment and joy.
Have a Merry Christmas.
